Whyte Ridge is set between the Whyte Ridge Industrial Park and the Fort Whyte Centre for Environmental Education. One of Winnipeg’s fastest growing communities, due to it’s great location and the price of homes offered, has a newly constructed shopping centre that houses many big name retail stores. WalMart, Canadian Tire, Sobey's, Safeway, and Blockbuster just to name a few.
This community’s schools are managed by the Pembina Trails School Division . The area has one elementary school and one middle school. The areas closest High School, Vincent Massey Collegiate, is located east of Whyte Ridge via a 15 minute bus ride, and South Winnipeg Technical Centre is located just minutes west of the community. The area has one public library (near Vincent Massey Collegiate), and Whyte Ridge is very convenient to the Univerity of Manitoba campus to the south.

Recreation in Whyte Ridge
The area offers a wide range of recreational pursuits: it has the Wildwood and Crescent Drive golf courses along the Red River and Arnason’s driving range just north of Bishop Grandin, It has the Winnipeg Soccer Complex on its western boundary, and the Soccer Spectrum, a boat launch at Crescent Park Drive, and the beautiful Fort Whyte Centre for Environmental Education to its west. Not far to the north, at Grant Park, is the beautiful Pan Am Pool. The community itself has 2 outdoor rinks and cross country skiing trails in Crescent Drive Park. The Shelley Shearer School of Dance and Tae Ryong Park Tae Kwon Do & Hapkido Academy are two well respected schools and are just minutes away from Whyte Ridge.
Shopping Near Whyte Ridge
Pembina Highway is the main south Winnipeg shopping district with many stores along its length. Area residents also head to Grant Park Shopping Centre, and south to Pembina Crossing, both malls with movie theatres. Also, many big name retail stores. WalMart, Canadian Tire, IGA, Safeway at the corners of McGillivary Blvd and Kenaston.
